Since 1952, The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate have offered retreats for those seeking a better understanding of their relationship with God. This ministry is sustained by those who seek this “quiet, sheltered place” to reflect, rest and renew themselves and their love for their Creator.
It is a legend that the Native Americans who occupied this area called the place DABINAWA, which means “a sheltered, quiet place. With its tree-covered grounds and beautiful bluff walks, this area provides an atmosphere of peace and solitude, and a sacred place for meditation, reflection and quiet time. All who seek God and wish to grow in their spiritual life are invited to come and share in the gift of DABINAWA.”
