Fr. Richard Sudlik, OMI

Director/Team Member

Fr. Dick comes to us from New Orleans where he served as Director and Superior of the Oblate Mission Center. He has extensive experience preaching in parishes and retreat centers throughout the United States and was appointed director of Christ the King Retreat Center in May 2020.

Fr. Lon Konold, OMI

Team Member  

Fr. Lon is originally from Minnesota and calls Minneapolis his home town. Upon Ordination, Fr. Lon served for 13 years in Scandinavia, and was one of the founders of the Oblate mission in Norway.

Having returned to the United States in November of 1990, Fr. Lon helped organize the Oblate Preaching Team to conduct Parish Renewals (missions).

After 156 parish renewal missions, he was assigned to the preaching staff at Immaculata Retreat House in Willimantic, CT from 2000-2008. He joined the staff at Christ the King Retreat Center in July, 2008.

Sr. Brenda Rose Szegedy, OSF

Team Member

Sr. Brenda Rose was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She made her Final Profession of Vows in 1968 as a member of the Sisters of St. Francis, Sylvania, Ohio. Her years of ministry include teaching as well as formation work for her community.

For the past 25 years, Sr. Brenda Rose has been active in retreat ministry and spiritual direction in various retreat centers in Ohio, Western New York, and Florida. Since July, 2008 she has been a member of the preaching team at Christ the King Retreat Center in Buffalo, MN and offers spiritual direction.

Fr. Hank Lemoncelli

Team Member

Born in Peckville, Pennsylvania, and raised in Buffalo, New York, Fr. Hank Lemoncelli entered the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 1968. Following his Ordination in 1979, his ministerial assignments have included: high school teacher, chaplain and principal, parish ministry with Hispanic communities, Dean of Oblate College, formation director, and member of the Administrative Teams of the Eastern and American Provinces.

In November of 1999, he was assigned to the Oblate General House in Rome, Italy, where he served as Moderator of student fathers and as an Official at the Vatican Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life. Having retired from his Vatican position in March of 2021, he returned to the United States Province and was assigned to our retreat center.

Fr. Hank holds Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Philosophy and Sacred Theology and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. He is a member of the Preaching Team and available for Spiritual Direction.

Brother Dan Bozek, OMI

Team Member

Bro. Dan Bozek, OMI is from Chicago IL. He became an Oblate Brother in 1958. He has served at Carthage MO. for 7 years, Pine Hills in Mississippi for 3 years and Rochester MN. for 5 years.

After that he went to Sweden where he helped out at 4 of our parishes and was the Treasurer for the Scandinavian Delegation for over 30 years. After 35 years in Sweden, he returned back to Minnesota where he has been stationed here in Buffalo since 2008.

Anita Goth

Office Manager

Anita joined our staff in July 2020 as the office coordinator and was promoted to Office Manager in May 2021. She has been instrumental in updating our retreatant and donor databases and initiating the website refresh. In her role as office manager, she coordinates our Hosted Retreats, Private Retreats, works closely with the office coordinator who manages the King’s House retreats and provides support to our many departments to ensure an enjoyable retreat experience.  Anita also provides administrative support to the Oblates in Residence and the Preaching Team.

Joyce Paumen

Gift Shop Manager

Joyce rejoins us after serving 30 years in our office from 1972 to 2002. She now is helping manage our Gift Shop that contains a variety of books, cards and gift items, as well as a small selection of toiletries. Stop in and say Hello!

Bruce Hanson

Maintenance Supervisor

Bruce has worked at Christ the King since 1998. As maintenance Engineer he is responsible for all of the building functions and care of the grounds. He finds the work here, though frustrating at times, to be both challenging and rewarding.

Ann Hanson

Food Service Supervisor

Ann started working at Christ the King Retreat Center as a part-time cook. In February of 2015, she began her current position as Food-Service Supervisor. In addition to being a wonderful cook, she plans the menus for retreatants, schedules the cooks and servers, and oversees their work.

Sarah Berry

Housekeeping Supervisor

Sarah is very happy to be at Christ the King Retreat Center. She has been recently promoted to Head Housekeeping position in 2022. She loves the challenge, peacefulness, and fellowship that radiates in this holy place.
