“Keeping Christ Incarnate: The Stunning Implications of the Incarnation”

God didn’t come to earth in the flesh for just 33 years. Christ didn’t leave us when he ascended into heaven. We, the Christian community, continue the incarnation. We are the Body of Christ. We do not represent Christ, replace Christ, or become only his mystical body. We ARE the Body of Christ and we continue to give physical flesh to God. This has astonishing implications for how we pray, seek healing, look for guidance, understand religious experience, and for how we “bind and loose” our loved ones.  A look at the concept of the Incarnation and its astonishing implications.

“Embracing Mary”

Presented by Susan Stabile – Silent Weekend Retreat for Men and Women

Mary occupies a special place in our Catholic tradition.  While our ultimate model for discipleship is her Son Jesus, spending time with and learning from Mary helps us deepen our growth in God and Christ. This retreat invites us to reflect on and embrace the many faces of Mary and to appreciate her in her fullness—as first disciple, as mother of God, as mother of church, as a woman of prayer, and as a real woman of faith.  Doing so will help us to appreciate Mary’s pre-eminent place in the communion of saints.

“Finding Happiness in Troubled Times: The Beatitudes Promise”

Presented by Fr. Matt Linn – Silent Weekend Retreat for Men and Women

What makes you angry, frustrated, fearful or unhappy? The Beatitudes proclaim our emotions are an opportunity.  We can receive blessings and the deepest life from the deepest hurts.  When we or someone we love experiences pain, is insulted, persecuted or suffers injustice, we can join Jesus as He lived each Beatitude. He desires to heal and gift us now with new life in our struggles. As we are healed, we can become peacemakers walking with others in their worst times just as a recovered alcoholic is gifted to help another alcoholic. This is God’s promise, “In everything God works for good with those who love him”(Rm 8:28).  Join us as we explore the Promises of the Beatitudes.
